The Apple TV Home Screen provides an area called Top Shelf, which showcases your content in a rich, engaging way. Top Shelf is a unique opportunity to highlight new, featured, or recommended content and let people jump directly to your app.
Types of Top Shelf Content:
- Static Content: Displays a static image that doesn’t change, typically a promotional image or banner.
- Dynamic Content: Displays dynamic content like videos, images, or a grid of items that can be selected and navigated.
1. Static Top Shelf Implementation
- Create the Top Shelf Image:
- You need to prepare the static image asset (

) for your app. The image resolution should be: - 1920 x 720 px for a wide image.
- 3840 x 1440 px for a 2x resolution image.
2. Configure the Top Shelf Image in Xcode:
- In Xcode, go to your Assets.xcassets file.
- Right-click and choose New Image Set, then name it
